Rich, Jon, and the Battle of Knob Creek
Last week on Boxing day we had our first visitors! My friend since I was a little kid, Jon, came over with his girlfriend Anna. They stayed until January 2nd, so were here for the New Year's eve festivities and Jon's birthday, which is on New Years Day.
Whilst they were here they went to Liberty and Ellis Island, Wall St, Ground Zero, and did lots and lots of shopping. One night we took a bus over the Hudson river to watch the New Jersey Devils Ice Hockey team take on the Washington Capitals. what an exciting game, a nine-goal thrilla - the Devils one 7-2.

We also went ice skating, visited the Rockefeller center Christmas tree, and had a day out in Brooklyn. As you can see, Jon was in charge of taking the pictures of the ice skating. Or maybe it was because we were skating at such a super-fast speed he couldn't get a still picture.

New Year's Eve was good fun too, being on the East Coast of America, we didn't realise that its expected you ring in the New Year in four different time zones. So we tried our best...

Eastern Time....

Central Time...

Mountain Time...

Pacific Time...

and finally Bed time....

This is not the best pic of us both, but until we find a better one, it'll do. We were in Moscow, thats why it looks cold, and we couldn't find anyone to take a picture for us. We'll be adding to this blog as we (try and) set ourselves up for a couple of years in Manhattan.
